Fusion Drumming
Fusion emerged as a musical genre in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. A landmark album that helped establish the genre was an album titled Bitches Brew by the critically acclaimed jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. During the years that followed, fusion developed into a full blown, technically challenging, intense and musically rewarding genre of music.
I am in production preparing a full class of lessons on fusion drumming, but because of the ambiguity about exactly what fusion drumming is, and to help get you started, I have provided an introductory lecture including a detailed description of what it is, where it comes from, and what the characteristic elements of the style are. Also included is a little bit of historical information on the style.
If you want to learn to play fusion, this is a great place to start! This lecture will provide you with an excellent foundation upon which to begin your journey into the world of fusion music and drumming!
