Rudiments

There are 40 international drum rudiments.  As a group, these rudiments are an excellent source of study and practice material, both for the development of technique, and for their use in musical applications to the drum set; and they are for drummers of all levels!

Generally, I teach all 40 international drum rudiments in 5 manageable groups; single stroke roll rudiments, multiple bounce roll rudiments, diddle rudiments, flam rudiments and drag rudiments.  In these rudiment classes, I focus on one rudiment group type at a time, breaking down each rudiment individually while explaining both the notational element of the rudiment and the executional element of the rudiment.  I also provide a demonstration of the rudiment.

I remember as a young drummer, having a very "unclear" picture of exactly what the rudiments were and why they seemed to be important.  These rudiment classes will clear up any questions you may have, and when completed, will give you a commanding authority over the 40 international drum rudiments!
