The double bass drum shuffle is one of the most exciting, dynamic, and explosive of all drum set rhythms; it’s also one of the most challenging! The rhythm was brought to prominent attention by drummer Alex Van Halen in the 1984 Van Halen song Hot For Teacher.
In Double Bass Drum Shuffle (volume 1) there is an introductory lecture on the rhythm, along with 5 video lessons which will help you to understand the foundational rhythmic and notational structure of the rhythm while providing some beginning double bass drum shuffle rhythms for you to practice. This class will provide a solid working foundation of the rhythm and set you up for more advanced studies on this very awesome drum rhythm!
