Metric Modulation is one of the most mystifying of all drumming topics! Interestingly enough, metric modulation is more confusing to understand than it is to actually apply to your drumming. I am working on a full class of video lessons on various elements of metric modulation including many musical practice examples. In the meantime, I have prepared an introductory lesson for you. I think you will find that this lecture will clear up this confusing topic. I have also included in this lecture some initial practice examples using one application of metric modulation; 4/4 to 6/8.
