Description
There are 195 countries in the world, and they all have their own rhythm and sounds. Learning to play rhythms from other countries will make you a more creative and versatile drummer, and they’re so much fun to play!
In Rhythms of the World (volume 1), you will find an introductory lecture on rhythms of the world, then the 1st 7 rhythms in this series. An interesting note is that sometimes, rhythms from other countries, are not played on a traditional drum set as we know it. Nevertheless, I have adapted those particular rhythms for the drum set. This video class presents 8 lessons as follows: “introduction to rhythms of the world”, “blues”, “boogaloo”, “disco”, “the hora”, “the rhumba”, “the twist”, and the “Viennese waltz”.
By learning and working with rhythms of the world, you will not only improve your knowledge of rhythms from other countries, but you will improve your drumming and creativity in applying rhythm. Adding rhythmic versatility to your drumming artistry is a worthy goal, and you’ll have a lot of fun in the process!
