Description
Hard Rock drumming is a driving, straight forward, hard hitting, sub-style of rock music and drumming. This video class focuses on the stylistic elements of the early hard rock bands such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and others. Today, these bands are often referred to as Classic Rock, but in the 1970’s, when you heard the term hard rock, it was these amazing bands that came to mind and very aptly defined the hard rock genre.
Mike is preparing a full class of lessons aimed directly at this style of music and will include performance examples, insights, exercises, musical patterns, and more. Hard Rock is a very important sub-style of rock. Today, there are many bands that play hard rock, and it is a style well worth studying; and, it’s so much fun to play!
Mike has posted his introductory lesson titled Welcome to Hard Rock Drumming, which will not only outline some of the bands that started the genre (sort of a mini history lesson), but Mike defines the primary characteristic elements of the drumming style. Please also check back later as Mike continues to post more exciting practice and study material in this important rock sub-style / genre!
